Mac Miller would be proud.
The late Pittsburgh rapper—wow, it’s so weird to actually type those words—had many friends and collaborators during his incredible, albeit stunted, career. These folks all gathered at the Greek Theatre in LA for a celebration of Mac’s life, featuring performances from Travis Scott, SZA, Chance the Rapper, Thundercat and more.
Proceeds from the ticket sales went to the Mac Miller Circle Fund, a new fund from the Pittsburgh Foundation set up to “provide programming, resources and opportunities to youth from underserved communities, helping them recognize their full potential through exploration in the arts and community building.”
John Mayer performed at the show, and while the youthful crowd botched most of the lyrics to “Gravity,” it was his performance of Mac’s “Small Worlds” that stole the show:
